What's new?
What's new this fall? COLTT and the ATLAS Institute have formed a partnership on the CU-Boulder campus in association with COLTT's move to the CU System.
Accordingly, we are pleased to promote the ATLAS speaker series. Next Monday, October 28th, please join Hilary Mason who will present, "Data Science: Art and Craft".
For more information about the series go to: http://www.colorado.edu/atlas/speakerseries.
Hilary Mason, who studied computer science and algorithms at Brown and wrote a book on machine learning, is the chief scientist at Bitly, which is perhaps best known as a website that is used to shorten World Wide Web addresses, but which also has an attention-ranking product called Realtime. Mason's research is related to studying massive amounts of Internet data in real time. Mason is also a co-founder of HackNY, which helps engineering students find their way into the startup community of creative technologists. She has received the TechFellows Engineering Leadership award, and was on the Forbes 40 under 40 Ones to Watch list and Crain’s New York 40 under Forty list. She will talk about big data, what Bity is doing, and why it is important. 4-5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, Cofrin Auditorium, ATLAS 100
