Abstract: This presentation will take a look at the origins and evolution, educational uses, and possibilities of the Raspberry Pi, a $35 computer. We will explore the world of Makers - a subculture that involves learning and sharing knowledge through creativity and innovation - and what role the Raspberry Pi plays in this movement. From taking pictures of the Earth from space to applying to MIT, come see how the Raspberry Pi helps new and lifelong learners alike.

Bio: Brandon Poulliot has worked in the Instructional Design and Educational Technology field since 2009, including as a member of the ASSETT team at University of Colorado Boulder and part of the Instructional Design team at Front Range Community College. Brandon has a passion for using off-the-shelf games, open source technology, and multimedia to enhance learning and teaching, both inside and outside of the classroom.
