Abstract: The flipped classroom model is one of the best ways to ensure student engagement and knowledge retention; but how does it really work? In this presentation, participants will experience the flipped classroom firsthand. In addition, participants will have a chance to hear and discuss what works, what doesn't work, and advice from experienced flippers.

Bio: Roberta Calderaro holds a Master degree in Instructional and Learning Technologies from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has served as an adjunct instructor in the AAA department at CCD since the Spring semester of 2012. She uses active learning, games, and technology to create meaningful and engaging activities for her students to support her flipped classroom.
