Track: General Presentation
Topic: MOOCs
Level: For Mere Mortals
Abstract: In Fall 2013 CU Boulder launched the MOOC "Comic Books and Graphic Novels" on Coursera to over 37,000 participants. To meet the challenge of assessing writing at scale, the course development team used Coursera's calibrated peer assessment tool to administer two short analytical papers. This presentation will share our findings on the reliability of peer evaluation based on a random sample of faculty-graded submissions. (Hint, they actually deserved the C.)
