Abstract:Canvas is quickly becoming a front runner in the LMS market, and several Front Range universities are jumping on board. Join the University of Denver and the University of Colorado Denver as they describe their experiences piloting, adopting, and transitioning to Canvas. Whether you are considering a new LMS or are a devoted customer, come get candid advice for dealing with change and leading the technology charge.

 

Bio:Terri Johnson (MPS- University of Denver) is an Instructional Support Specialist on the Academic Quality Development team at DU’s University College. Terri has worked at University College for eight years and directly supports University College faculty in areas of learning management support, technology training, and curriculum design and development. Terri has been the lead facilitator on University College’s transition to the Canvas Learning Management System. This role has allowed her to design an implementation plan, support faculty through the pilot process, and create training guides for adjunct faculty.

 

Description:The University of Denver and University of Colorado Denver team up to share their experiences with transitioning from their previous learning management systems to Canvas. This panel discussion will consist of Instructional Support Specialists from DU and Academic Technology Coordinators from CU Online. They will talk about their Canvas pilots, the challenges and achievements they faced during the transition to Canvas, and lessons learned during the first year with this new learning management system.
